Cher Lloyd Signed By Jay-Z
Cher Lloyd has been signed to Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation, it has been claimed – right under the nose of her biggest fan will.i.am. However, Cher’s blend of singing and rapping also attracted the interest of other musical stars, including Jay-Z, who eventually won the battle to sign the teen.

Series Public Votes Revealed
Matt Cardle was the clear winner in every weekly vote on this year’s X Factor apart from the first round, it has been revealed. The 2010 champion soared to victory every Sunday, after displacing Mary Byrne from the top spot in week two. ITV has published full voting stats for the whole series, which pulled in 15,448,019 votes across the whole run. The detailed figures fail to quash conspiracy theories about alleged fixing from the producers of the show. Mary Byrne did finish higher than Cher Lloyd in the semi-final vote when many people were surprised by the addition of a sing-off to the elimination procedure. Meanwhile, Katie Waissel finished beneath Treyc Cohen in week five, when Cheryl Cole controversially abstained and was not allowed to take it to ‘Deadlock’ as she wished. Waissel also finished in the bottom two in week one, but was saved by the judges instead of boyband FYD. Simon Cowell and the judges have maintained throughout the show that they have no access to the voting figures.

It has also been confirmed that Britain’s Got Talent will return in spring 2011 as usual, while the UK X Factor will further be back in its regular slot in autumn 2011.

Second Results Show – In Review
The second results show took place tonight and saw performances from Diana Vickers and Katy Perry. Tonight saw another double elimination. The act with the least public votes had to go home straight away and that was Storm Lee. The other two acts that polled the least votes were two of Simon’s Groups. Diva Fever and Belle Amie were both in the sing-off. The judges then had to decide who they want to send home. Louis, Danni and Cheryl all decided to send home Diva Fever. Dermot then asked Simon to say which of the acts he would have sent home but he replied “that’s not fair – they have left, leave it as that”. Diva Fever said that they have had “the time of our lives”.

First Live Show – In Review
The live shows are back on our screens with the longest ever X Factor show tonight lasting a massive 180 minutes. The theme this week was number ones from around the world. The show started revealing that each judge has brought back a contestant on a wildcard. Simon brought back duo Diva Fever in the Groups category, Louis Walsh offered his wildcard to Wagner Carrilho. Dannii Minogue handed a last chance to Paije Richardson and Cheryl Cole gave the last slot on the live shows to Treyc Cohen. All sixteen acts than sang as the judges made comments. Apart from a few quips about styling and song choices, the judges were, unusually, fairly complimentary to the acts although the squabbling between each other was still evident. At one point Louis told Cheryl “I have an opinion, it’s not all about you” and Simon wasn’t amused when Louis tried to claim that forming the group One Direction was his idea. The phone lines are now open and the two acts polling the least votes will leave the competition in Sunday nights show. Last year’s winner, Joe McElderry will also perform on the results show.
