Dalton Harris, the latest winner of The X Factor, has entered the UK singles chart at number four with his debut record, a cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s The Power of Love. That’s two places lower than 2017 winners Rak-Su managed this time last year with their first single, Dimelo. No X Factor winner’s single has gone to number one since Ben Haenow’s in 2014. An average of 5.3 million people tuned in to the X Factor final on Sunday to see Jamaican-born Harris beat fellow finalists Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee. Harris’s cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s 1984 chart-topper features vocals from James Arthur, who won the ITV talent show in 2012. Harris, 24, is now a double talent show winner, having won the show’s Jamaican equivalent in 2010.

The ratings for this year’s X Factor final went up compared with last year, overnight ratings show. An average of 5.3 million people tuned in to watch Dalton Harris beat Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee on ITV on Sunday. It was a far cry from the 17 million who watched Matt Cardle win in 2010, when the show was at its peak. But it was an improvement on last year’s overnight figure of five million, when Rak-Su triumphed. The viewing figures do not include those who watched on +1.

The Final – Part Two – DALTON WINS
Part two of the X Factor final was opened by a performance of, this years big dance craze, Baby Shark chosen by Simon’s son Eric. Then it was time to hear the contestant’s winner’s singles. Anthony’s single was I Predict A Riot featuring Ricky Wilson and The Kaiser Chiefs. Scarlett sang One More Sleep featuring, former winner, Leona Lewis. Next up we had an interlude when Nile Rodgers and Chic took to the stage to do a medley of their hits. Then Dalton performed his winner’s single which was The Power Of Love featuring James Arthur. As the votes came in Take That took to the stage to perform a few tracks and, as rumoured, Robbie did take to the stage to sing with them. Then it was finally results time and first Dermot revealed the third place contestant was Anthony. Next it was time to find out the 15th X Factor winner and Dermot revealed that was Dalton. He was absolutely stunned and then performed his winners single again, joined on stage by this year’s contestants.
The Final – Part One
Part one of the grand final of the 2018 X Factor took place in Wembley and the show was opened with Robbie Williams performing a medley of his hits with this year’s contestants. Then it was down to business as the final three contestants each performed and VT was shown of what the acts got up to in their battle buses in the past week. Next up James Arthur and Anne Marie performed their new single, Rewrite The Stars, together. Then it was the famous duet time. Anthony performed with Tom Walker and Dalton teamed up with Emeli Sande. Then we had a musical interlude from George Ezra before we saw the final duet where Scarlett and Robbie Williams sang together. Then the phone lines were opened as Dermot proclaimed the winner will be announced on Sunday’s show and will be down to viewer votes only. Each act will also perform their winners single on Sunday’s show.
It’s official: Gary Barlow will soon be back on an X Factor stage with his iconic group Take That. The man-band made the news official themselves that they will be a part of this weekend’s finale of the ITV reality competition on Twitter by confirming that the “rumours are true”. As of yet, Take That have not confirmed whether they’ll be performing as a trio or if they will be joined on stage by current X Factor judge Robbie Williams. Ever since their former bandmate Robbie and his wife Ayda Field joined Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson on the X Factor judging panel this past year, there has been rampant speculation that Robbie and Take That could reunite on the show.

Semi-Final – Part Two
The second part of the semi-final saw the remaining four acts perform another song each. Then it was this week’s guest performer which was Zara Larrson who performed her latest single. Next it was results time and Dalton and Anthony went through to the final leaving Acacia and Aaliyah and Scarlett to face the sing-off. After the sing-off the judges had to choose who to send home. Simon saved his act and sent home Acacia and Aaliyah and Robbie saved his act and sent home Scarlett. Ayda chose to send home, her husbands act, Acacia and Aaliyah as did Louis so Scarlett joins Dalton and Anthony in next weekends final live from Wembley stadium. The episode ended with the finalists boarding their battle busses which will transport them around the country in the coming week.
Semi-Final – Part One
Saturday saw part one of the semi-final and this week there was no apparent theme. Robbie Williams returned to his judging role after a few weeks away. Dermot revealed that two contestants would go on tonight’s show and another on Sunday ahead of next weeks final. Stand out performances this week came courtesy of Dalton, Scarlett plus Acacia and Aaliyah and Brendon had a better week too. After they all performed the voting opened for a short time. During this time all of the semi-finalists did a medley of Abba hits in front of the cast of Mamma Mia and Bjorn Ulvaeus from the band itself. This followed a VT recorded earlier in the week where the finalists had a singing master class from Benny Anderson from Abba. Next up the voting was frozen and Dermot revealed the two acts with the least votes and leaving immediately were Brendon and Danny. The vote lines were re-opened and another act will leave on Sunday. All votes cast on Saturday will still count for the remaining acts.
The controversy over Cheryl’s return to The X Factor last weekend rumbles on, with the star herself now hitting out at the “relentless abuse” she’s received over the past two days. The former X Factor judge was back on the ITV talent competition’s stage on Sunday night (November 18) to perform her new single ‘Love Made Me Do It’, but the performance was widely panned in the tabloids for being awkward or too raunchy. Cheryl hit back on Twitter on Tuesday (November 20), after telling her fans that she was certainly aware of their “lovely comments and support” amid all of the drama. “I let a lot of things lie but the sheer level of unbalanced negativity towards me in the tabloid press these past few days has been quite frankly shocking and I need to address it,” she added. “This level of relentless abuse should not be tolerated in any walk of life.” In particular, Cheryl was understandably upset over the scrutiny about her “appearance”, “body size” and “shape” in the discussion, calling it all “totally uncalled for”. The singer argued that such body-shaming was only giving “trolls a bigger voice and platform” at a time when cyber-bullying is such a serious issue. In the end, Cheryl was defiant as she assured her critics: “I did watch my performance back and I LOVED IT!”

Live Show Five – Results
At the start of this week’s results show Simon revealed that all of the acts that made it through to the semi-final next week would also appear on the X Factor Tour. After highlights of Saturdays show the act with the least votes was revealed as Bella and she had to leave straight away. It was then time for the first guest performance of the evening who was Tom Walker. Next up, former judge, Cheryl appeared to unveil her come-back single. Then we found out the bottom two acts this week were Acacia and Aaliyah and Shan and they had to compete in the sing-off. Simon chose to save his act and sent home Acacia and Aaliyah and Nile chose to save his act and sent home Shan. Louis chose to send home Acacia and Aaliyah and Ayda purposely chose Shan to take it to Dead-Lock. So it was back to the public vote and the act with the least votes was Shan so Simon has lost two acts in one night. Simon then said he was changing the rules and said that Shan and Bella can also go on the X Factor tour. Next week it’s the semi-final.
Live Show Five
This week was Big Band week where the acts were accompanied by a live 30-piece band, it was also the quarter final. Nile Rodgers stepped in for Robbie Williams once again as he is still away in America. Stand out performances this week came courtesy of Dalton, Anthony, Shan and Scarlett, although she seemed to get the giggles while singing. Brendon and Acacia and Aaliyah had a better week too. Two more acts will leave on Sunday leaving six contestants for next weeks semi-final. The results show will also feature Tom Walker and Cheryl.
Former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has weighed in on the show’s falling ratings, claiming the blame lies with show boss Simon Cowell – and the fact that he’s changed it so often in recent years. This year’s series launched with a new judging panel and a fresh revamp, and also with the show’s lowest viewer ratings since it started 14 years ago. And while the dip in viewers may not be the death knoll for the show that everyone thinks it is – ITV has apparently recommissioned it for another four years after all – Mrs O has responded to Simon Cowell’s calling the fall in ratings “funny” by laying the blame firmly at his feet. Unfortunately, not out of malice, but I am only saying this because Simon’s quote thinks it is funny, that the figures have dropped, and dropped and dropped through the course of the show,” Sharon told The Sun. “I am not saying it was all me at all, but [it’s because of] his decision to change the show again and again and again.” Sharon’s comments come after she confirmed at the end of September that she wouldn’t be returning for this year’s live shows, despite having been announced as returning as a “fifth judge”.

Live Show Four – Results
This week’s results show was opened by Michael Buble. After a look back at last nights show we found out the act with the least public votes was Mis-Understood and they had to leave immediately. The next guest performance was from Olly Murs and then it was results time. The bottom two acts were Giovanni and Acacia and Aaliyah so they had to have a sing-off. Afterwards the judges had to decide who to send home and Nile chose to save his act and sent home Giovanni and Ayda chose to save her act and sent home Acacia and Aaliyah. Louis and Simon both chose to send home Giovanni so he left the competition. Next weekend is the quarter-final and the theme will be Prom night.
Live Show Four
This week’s theme was Movie Week where the contestants had to sing songs from movie soundtracks. It was fair to say songs from The Greatest Showman featured quite a bit. As Robbie is still working in America, Nile Rodgers stood in as judge for the Groups category again. Stand out performances this week came courtesy of Dalton, Shan and Scarlett. Brendan had a better week which reflected in the judges critiques of him. Bella, Mis-Understood and even Shan all did well but all had some negative comments from a few judges. Sunday’s results show will feature Olly Murs and Michael Buble as guests.
Live Show Three – Results
This week’s results show started with an apology for Saturdays technical problems. Dermot explained that to be fair to all contestants all of last night’s performances would be shown again. After a repeat of Saturday’s performances the vote finally opened for viewers to cast their votes. Next up, former winner, James Arthur performed his new single then Jonas Blue appeared with Liam Payne and Lennon Stella to play their single. Then it was results time and the three acts with the least votes were Acacia and Aaliyah, United Vibe and Molly. The act with the least votes was United Vibe and they had to leave straight way. Next Acacia and Aaliyah and Molly had a sing-off then the judges had to decide who to send home. Nile, who is standing in for Robbie, chose to save his act and sent home Molly and Simon chose to save his act and sent home Acacia and Aaliyah. Ayda and Louis chose to send home Molly so she had to leave the competition. Next weeks theme is Movie week.
Live Show Three
This week’s theme was Fright Night in a late nod to Halloween. The judges (except Louis) made an effort to dress up for the occasion. It was also revealed that tonight was Robbie’s last show for a few weeks as he has to gig in America and Nile Rodgers will stand in for him. Stand out performances this week came courtesy of Dalton, Scarlett, Shan, Danny and Mis-Understood. Giovanni and Brendon also received better judge comments this week too. There was a big technical issue during one part of the show where the sound was very distorted. This effected Danny and Anthony’s performances. This created quite a storm on social media and its even been suggested this weeks show was actually pre-recorded earlier in the day so Robbie can fly to America. When Dermot announced the phone lines were open it came up on the screen that due to the technical difficulties the vote has been cancelled and lines will open in the results show. Sunday’s results show will feature guest performances from James Arthur and Jonas Blue with Liam Payne.
The X Factor is turning to a bona fide music legend to fill in at the judges’ table for this weekend’s results show – and next weekend’s episodes, too. Robbie Williams’ busy touring schedule means that he’s booked to headline in Santiago, Chile on Monday (November 5), making it impossible for him to take part in Sunday’s (November 4) results show and the live shows on November 10 and 11. It’s now been confirmed that Robbie has drafted in Chic’s Nile Rodgers to sit alongside him during Saturday’s (November 3) performance show, and then Nile will fully substitute for the missing judge during the results show on Sunday, November 4 and the following week. That means Nile could play a crucial role in deciding the fate of Robbie’s Groups should one or more of them fall into the bottom spot during the results shows. “I had such a great time with Louis at the Judge’s House in Ibiza a couple of weeks ago that when the opportunity came to step in for Robbie I could not say ‘no’,” Nile revealed.

Live Show Two – Results
This weeks results show was opened by, former winners, Little Mix performing their new single. After we saw highlights from Saturdays show the lines were closed and Dermot revealed that the act with the least votes was Janice and she had to leave the competition. Then the lines reopened as Kylie Minogue took to the stage. Then it was time to reveal the bottom two and they were Brendan and LMA Choir. After the sing-off the judges had to choose who was leaving. Robbie chose to save his act and sent home Brendan and Louis saved his act and sent home LMA Choir. Simon chose to send home Brendan and Ayda said she couldn’t choose so picked LMA Choir to purposely take it to Dead-Lock. In a Dead-Lock situation the decision goes back to the public vote and the act with the least votes and going home was LMA Choir. Next weeks live show theme is Fright Night, in what will be a late nod to Halloween.
Live Show Two
The theme of the second live show was Guilty Pleasures. Although Ayda questioned on occasions throughout the show as to whether the acts had picked real guilty pleasures. This week Danny and Molly had suffered a loss of their voices but were both able to sing on the night. Stand out performances this week came courtesy of Dalton, Shan, LMA Choir and Giovanni. Brendon had mixed reviews again and United Vibe were given a hard time by the judges too. Simon called their performance terrible and both Simon and Robbie think the band should also change their name again. They have already changed it once from Vibe 5. Sunday’s results show will feature quest performances from Kylie Minogue and, former winners, Little Mix. Plus two acts will be eliminated again.
Olly Murs might be making a return to The X Factor stage to perform, but that doesn’t mean he’s on the good side of head honcho Simon Cowell. In case you missed it: Olly found himself in the midst of an (overblown) media storm back in 2015 after prematurely announcing that contestant Monica Michael was going home. The backlash and criticism was weirdly unrelenting, and Olly was dropped from the reality series as host. Three years since his presenting blunder while hosting the show, the singer controversially turned down a spot on the 2018 judging panel, opting instead to keep his position as a coach on The Voice UK for a second year. A former X Factor contestant himself, Olly told The Mirror that his decision to stay on The Voice hasn’t gone down well with Simon, who then filled the open judging chair with Robbie Williams. “I have so much respect for Simon and it was difficult to tell him no – I’m not sure we’re on talking terms. I felt I had such a great time on The Voice, why would I leave after one year? “I felt I did an incredible job last year and I’m very proud of that. It was a good move.”

Tonight’s episode of The X Factor saw two more contestants booted from the competition, but in a turn of a events that could almost be described as conventional for a talent show programme, viewers were not happy with the judge’s decision. After two fairly dry performances (from Janice and Armstrong in the sing-off), the judges eventually decided that Janice was the least awful of the two of them and sent Armstrong home. But some viewers didn’t agree with this verdict, and many lamented the fact that Robbie Williams just agrees with whatever his wife Ayda Field says. One cross viewer took the time to tweet: “I do not agree with a married couple as xfactor judges this year, they are always going to back each other.” While another wrote: “What a joke #XFACTOR is ? Having Robbie and his wife on ! …ofcourse Robbie was never going to send home his wife’s act home and Simon have a word with yourself.” Some viewers also accused Simon Cowell, who had the deciding vote, of eliminating Armstrong just to spite fellow judge Louis Tomlinson.

Live Show One – Results
The first results show kicked off with a guest performance from Keala Settle who sang This Is Me. Last year’s winners, Rak-Su also performed their new single. Then it was down to business and the results and in the bottom three were Janice, Olatunji and Armstrong. The act with the least votes was Olatunji and he had to leave straight away. Then Janice and Armstrong had to have a sing-off. Then it was over to the judges to decide who was going home. Ayda chose to save her act and sent home Armstrong, Louis chose to save his act and chose Janice, Robbie and Simon chose to send home Armstrong. So Armstrong is the second act to be eliminated this year. Next week’s theme is Guilty Pleasures.
Live Show One
The first live show returned with dancing Dermot who went on to introduce the judges. The theme of the first live show was This Is Me, where the acts got to showcase who they want to be as artists. Stand out performances came courtesy of Armstrong, Bella, Shan, Scarlett, LMA Choir and Danny, who had to restart his song after being put off by being introduced as the wrong act. After all the acts sang the lines opened and will remain open until the results show. On Sundays show it is a double elimination. The act with the fewest votes will leave straight away. The next two acts with the fewest votes will go head to head in a sing-off. Then the judges will decide who to send home. Sunday will also see guest performances from Keala Settle and last years winners Rak-Su.
The final part of judges houses was broadcast this weekend with Louis taking his Boys to Ibiza where, former bandmate, Liam Payne and music legend Nile Rodgers were his guest judges. The four acts he chose to take through were Brendan Murray a 21 year old plumber from Ireland, Dalton Andre Harris a 24 year old singer from Jamaica, Anthony Russell a 28 year old labourer and Armstrong Martins a 23 year old youth worker. Next up we saw Ayda pick here top four Overs at her and Robbie’s L.A home. Her guest judges were, former X Factor winner, Leona Lewis and Adam Lambert. She chose to put through Olatunji Yearwood a 32 year old Soca performer and songwriter from Trinidad and Tobago, Janice Robinson a 50 year old songwriter, Danny Tetley a 37 year old bar singer from Benidorm and Giovanni Spano a 33 year old West End performer. The live shows start next weekend.
The next set of X Factor finalists have been revealed with the final four groups confirmed. Tonight saw judges’ houses continue as we headed to LA and Robbie Williams’ home with his groups category. Six acts sang for a place in the live shows for Robbie and his guest judge, Britain’s Got Talent star David Walliams. First to make the cut was LMA Choir, a group of 15 singers aged 18-40 from Liverpool. Next to get a yes from Robbie was duo A Star made up of Acacia, 15 and Aaliyah, 14. Third to get into the live shows were duo Misunderstood made up of Stefan, 25 and Jeff, 27 both from London. The fourth and final act in the live shows are boy band Vibe 5, put together at the Six Chair Challenge, made up of Kieran 22, Jack 17, Jon 18, Blaise 17 and Elliot 18.

Judges’ Houses kicked off on The X Factor tonight, with Simon Cowell picking his top four Girls at a party packed with music industry heavyweights at his Malibu home. As always, the judges got to invite along special guests to help them make their all-important decisions – but this year, Simon took that to new extremes. The Syco mogul threw a Judges’ Houses party, inviting not two, not three, but FIFTY superstar artists, songwriters, producers and entertainment industry bigwigs to help him decide who to keep. He decided the four Girls joining him in the live shows would be Bella, Shan, Molly and Scarlett.

The X Factor judges house phase of the show is about to begin. The four judges will take their six chosen acts in their categories to glamorous and exotic locations around the world to be whittled down ahead of the live shows. Simon is taking The Girls to his Malibu home. He is inviting a group of guest mentors into his house including American Idol stars Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul. Robbie Williams is taking The Groups to his LA home. His guest judge is Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams. Meanwhile Robbie’s wifey Ayda Field is taking The Overs to Los Angeles and her guest judges are, former X Factor winner, Leona Lewis and American Idol star Adam Lambert. Finally Louis Tomlinson is taking The Boys to Ibiza where his guest judges are, fellow One Directioner, Liam Payne and Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers.
The Six Chair Challenge came to an end on The X Factor tonight with the reveal of Louis Tomlinson’s top six Boys, and Robbie Williams final six in of the Groups. The final six Boys are Anthony Russell, Armstrong Martins, Brendan Murray, Dalton Andre Harris, J-Sol and Thomas Pound. Robbie’s final six groups are Vibe 5, LMA Choir, Sweet Sense, Panda and Burgandy, A Star and Misunderstood.
The first part of The Six Chair Challenge took place this weekend and we now know which six acts will go through to judges houses for The Girls and Overs. Through for the Over 25s category were Ricky John, Janice, Giovanni Spano, Danny, Olatunji Yearwood and Louise Setara. Through for The Girls are Scarlett, Maria, Georgia, Shan, Bella Penfold and Molly Scott.
Sharon Osbourne has left The X Factor and will not return to judge this year’s live shows as originally planned. The 65-year-old was on the panel of the first ever series in 2004 and stayed until 2007, before returning in 2013, and again from 2016 to 2017. However, it’s now been confirmed that she will play no part during the 2018 run. Earlier this month, Osbourne gave a pretty explosive, albeit lighthearted interview to US DJ Howard Stern, during which she targeted the “little shit” X Factor auditionees, “soap opera” star Ayda Field and “f**king pain in the arse” Simon Cowell. ITV has confirmed to Digital Spy in a statement: “The X Factor can confirm Sharon Osbourne has decided not to return to this year’s show. “Sharon will always be a big part of The X Factor family and we wish her all the best for the future.” Mrs O said in her own statement that she now doesn’t think she’s “needed” on the panel this year. “After watching the new season [of] X Factor unfold, I’ve seen the new judges finding their rhythm and are doing brilliantly,” Osbourne said. “Simon was so gracious to find me a spot on the live shows but at this point I really don’t think I’m needed and I would honestly feel odd coming in at this point. So I have decided to pass on the series this year. “I wish the show continued success and as much as I love to get my face on TV you will have to do without me this season”.

The new series of The X Factor was back this weekend for the final auditions from the arenas. After the auditions concluded, the judges cut down the 100 or so acts to 60 in a new ‘judges’ deliberation round’. They then found out their categories. The contestants were gathered for the announcement in rooms ahead of the Six Chair Challenge, before the judges walked in to discover who they’d be mentoring.
Robbie Williams has the Groups. He said: “They’re mega excited, I think I might be more excited than them.”
Ayda Williams has the Overs. She said: “I have said from day one that I want the overs. I will never live it down with my husband if I do worse than him.”
Simon Cowell has the Girls. He said: “I’m happy with the girls… you’ve all got a shot here, this is probably the best girls category we’ve had for a long, long time.”
Finally, Louis Tomlinson has the Boys. He said: “I wanted the boys, get in! The variety is important.”
In the six chair challenge, the remaining acts in each category will perform one by one for all four judges and a live audience who will offer their comments and critiques. Those that make it through will go forward to judges’ houses and potentially the live shows.

The X Factor got itself a shiny new judging panel this series – with Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Louis Tomlinson joining Simon Cowell behind the table – but its ratings haven’t seen a huge upturn (for live viewing, at least). However, host Dermot O’Leary, who has helmed the ITV talent show for 11 years, has revealed that he isn’t at all concerned about TV viewing figures. “I’ll tell you an anecdote about when I realised that we shouldn’t worry too much about ratings,” he told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine. “I mean, obviously you’ve got to in terms of wanting the show to pay for itself and be a success, but one of my researchers asked if their dad could come up and meet me after one of the live shows. “So lovely guy, mid-60s, comes up and I said: ‘So, you watch the show?’ And he goes: ‘Well I do, but mostly on YouTube.’ “And, well, if a man in his mid-60s is watching it on YouTube and people can get it bite-sized, we have to evolve the way we make it, to follow how people at home are viewing it. “The worst thing we can do is wring our hands. We just need to keep to our nerve and not worry too much. I don’t think any other show delivers what we deliver or creates stars the way we do.” Dermot is clearly still loving his role as chief hug-giver and ship-steerer but he admits that it can sometimes be a bit of a thankless task. “You do feel like you are the conductor of the campest runaway train in town,” he said. “You don’t want to be the boring one but, you know, someone’s gotta get to the ad break!” The show has had quite an impressive shake-up this year – as well as the new judging panel, we also now have a golden X, an impartial judge and no Boot Camp.

It seems that even a new judging panel has not been able to spark the fire for The X Factor as viewing figures showed the lowest numbers since the show began. An average of 5.7million viewers tuned in to watch the first episode of the 15th series, which featured a new judging panel of Simon Cowell with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and Ayda Field. This is a drop from last year’s equivalent episode, which clocked six million viewers according to overnight ratings. The show opener peaked with 6.3 million viewers, but was still the most-watched programme on ITV on Saturday with a 34% audience share. The figures make it the lowest launch since the talent competition debuted 14 years ago, when 4.9 million watched the opening night. Overnight ratings include those watching the programme live on ITV and on catch-up channel ITV+1, and further consolidated data will be revealed after seven days. ITV boss Kevin Lygo recently defended the programme against the drop in ratings in recent years. He told the Edinburgh TV Festival: “X Factor, more than any other show, it’s been running a long time, ratings have been going down a bit, but it’s still… the idea that you could launch a new show today that is as big as X Factor is now, I mean, our job is to keep it young, keep it good, keep it fresh.”

Matt Cardle has given his opinion on the new X Factor judging line-up. The singer beat Rebecca Ferguson and One Direction to win the show’s memorable seventh series in 2010 when Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl and Dannii Minogue were judges. It was recently announced that 1D’s Louis Tomlinson would be joining the panel this year, alongside Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field. Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Matt said: “As far as boybands go, it’s very much geared to help boybands, which is great. There’s no-one who knows the world of boybands better than Louis Tomlinson and Robbie Williams. “I don’t know anything about Robbie’s wife so I can’t comment on her. That’s because I don’t know much about her, not that she isn’t worthy of being there – I’m sure she is. Simon is there doing what he does best, being on TV.” He added: “Louis Tomlinson and Robbie have huge amounts of experience, which is just as valuable. Simon’s label is there with its wallet, which is very handy.”

One Direction fans are getting very excited over the prospect of a mini-reunion and the possibility of a performance on this year’s The X Factor. With Louis Tomlinson taking up a spot as one of the three new judges, Directioners have been hoping that Liam Payne, Harry Styles and/or Niall Horan would show their support and get involved, and now Niall has confirmed that he’s at least going to be heading down to the show to see his friend. Answering fan questions on Instagram, the ‘Slow Hands’ singer was asked if he was going to join or visit Louis on X Factor, to which he said: “Of course. Can’t wait to go down and see him in action.” His response implies he’s just going to go and be in the audience, but people are wondering if Niall will help Louis out at Judges’ Houses, or even perform a duet on the live shows together.

The all-new X Factor 2018 judging line-up has been confirmed. After Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger exited The X Factor earlier this year, ITV has revealed who will be joining head judge Simon Cowell when the show returns this autumn. Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field have both been named as X Factor judges alongside former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson. All three new judges were pictured at the X Factor press conference called to reveal the new judges. The trio were pictured entering Somerset House in London along with Cowell and Sinitta dressed as Simon Cowell. While Cowell will be joined by the all-new panel for the majority of the series, Sharon Osbourne will also be a judge during the live shows. According to ITV, the new judges are set to begin shooting the audition rounds from Wednesday 18th July.

Keen X Factor viewers were left surprised after Louis Walsh confirmed he has quit beloved ITV show following his 13-year stint. But ITV bosses have already taken the steps to replace entertainment manager, 65, as The Sun has reported that Robbie Williams will join the show as a new member of the prestigious judging panel. According to an insider, the former Take That star, 44, has ‘always been Simon [Cowell’s] dream singing’, with the 58-year-old music mogul bidding for the star for a decade.

Louis Walsh has decided to leave talent show The X Factor after what he has described as 13 “fantastic” years. Walsh, 65, has been the show’s longest-serving judge, appearing on all but one edition since it began in 2004. Production company Thames thanked him for playing a “huge part” in the show’s success. Simon Cowell will return to the show for the upcoming series, along with three new judges, whose identities have not yet been announced. “The show needs a change and I’m ready to leave,” said Walsh in a statement. He added that he would remain a judge on Ireland’s Got Talent, as well as focusing more on “my day job as a manager, writing my memoirs and seeing the world”.

X Factor bosses are scrapping the room auditions two years after bringing them back. Hopefuls on the ITV programme will now have to sing in front of a live crowd of thousands, as they did in previous years. Producers previously axed the rooms, where contestants sing only in front of the judging panel, in 2015. A show source said: “It’s often a once in a lifetime opportunity for those who audition. “While performing in front of four of the most knowledgeable people in music, when else will some of these people get the chance to sing in front of an arena full of thousands? “Ultimately, bosses are looking for an act who could go on to sell out arenas so this will be their chance to show they are arena worthy from the very first audition. “And let’s not forget, it also means the panel of judges will get instant feedback from the audience about who they want to see more, or less, of. “The rooms may throw up some comedy gold but the show is all about finding talent and producers think putting acts on a big stage from the word go will be helpful in doing that.”

Nicole Scherzinger has been axed from The X Factor and Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh are also unlikely to return. Simon Cowell has been secretly plotting a massive overhaul of the ITV talent show as it enters its 15th year, The Sun can reveal. Original judges Louis and Sharon, both now 65, have contracts to return this year. But show bosses are looking at terminating these to inject fresh blood. Pop heart-throb Craig David and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson are in talks to become the new male judge. Ex-judge Cheryl Tweedy, BGT panellist Alesha Dixon, Kylie Minogue and Mariah Carey are in contention to replace Nicole. An X Factor insider said: “Louis and Sharon are both contracted to return this year, but Simon and the producers have lost faith. They were both terrible on the panel last year. Louis has had a great run, but he’s advertising hearing aids for God’s sake. It’s beyond a joke. “And Sharon couldn’t even remember some of her own contestants’ names. “Nicole was a passionate judge but has no contract and won’t be back this year in order to bring in fresh blood.”
